The Austin Police Department is a law enforcement agency serving the city of Austin, Texas aboard a staff of more than 1,500 sworn personnel. Patrol, Investigations, and Support Services are among its bureaus. APD maintains CALEA accreditation. Community policing initiatives have been implemented by APD aimed at improving community relations and public safety.
